The 13-mile Wabash Heritage Trail is great for long walks along the river that separates these twinned cities.

The nearby Prophetstown State Park is the place to go for camping, hiking, biking, and horse-drawn trolley rides. It hosts a country fair every September. Another highlight of living here is the proximity to Wolf Park, a wildlife refuge that offers guided educational tours of its extensive habitat for wolves, coyotes, foxes, and bison.
